Delete your Heyan House account

This page explains how to request deletion of your Heyan House account (the society & rent-management app, com.heyanhouse.rent, published by Heyan House) and the personal data associated with it, and what we delete versus what we must retain.

How to request deletion

Option 1 — In the app

1. Open the Heyan House app (or web app) and sign in.
2. Go to Profile and tap Delete account, then confirm.
3. We email you a confirmation link. Open that link to finish — your account is deleted only after you confirm by email, so nobody can delete it without access to your inbox. The link expires shortly.

Account owners (landlords) can't self-delete in the app, because it would affect their society's tenants — please use Option 2 to contact us.

Option 2 — By email

1. Email admin@heyanhouse.in from the email address registered on your account, with the subject "Delete my account".
2. Include your full name and, if known, your society/unit so we can locate your account.
3. We verify the request comes from the account owner (via your registered email), then process the deletion.

What is deleted

Once your request is verified, we delete or irreversibly anonymise:

• Your account & identity — name, email address, phone number, login credentials.
• Your profile, role assignment, and push-notification tokens.
• KYC / identity and lease documents you uploaded, and complaints, visitor passes, gate logs, event RSVPs and other community data tied to you.

What is kept, and for how long

Some records are retained after account deletion because Indian financial, tax and accounting law requires it, or to resolve disputes and prevent fraud:

• Payment & receipt records (dues paid, amounts, payment status, receipt numbers) — retained for the period required by tax/accounting law, then deleted or anonymised. We never store your card, UPI, or bank details — those are handled by our payment processor, Razorpay.
• Minimal audit/security logs — retained for a limited period for security and legal compliance.

Retained financial records are disassociated from your active profile where possible and are used only for the legal purposes above.

Timeline

Deletion requests are actioned and account data removed within 30 days of a verified request. Records under a legal retention obligation are deleted when that obligation ends.

Note for tenants and staff

If your account was created by your society/landlord (for example a committee added you as a resident, security or maintenance user), deleting your account removes your personal login and personal data as described above. Property, unit and tenancy records that the society is legally required to keep remain with that society under their own account.
